Right then, before I get 30 replies slagging it off, I know it's not the best/safest way of lowering a BMW.
I'm racing a BMW E36 328i, in the Practical Performance Car £999 Challenge. Which is on Friday, I've striped the interior out yesterday and the car has raised up nearly 3 inches on the suspension. So my only real option is to cut the springs, unless I can get some lowering springs on Monday from somewhere, and I do mean I need them in my hands on Monday, not bought on Monday and wait for delivery, I haven't got that much time.
The car is only being used for the £999 challenge, then it is being broken, so I can use the engine and box in something else.
I know I can cut the front springs and use lock wire to secure them in, but has anyone know of the same method being used on the rear "pigtail" springs?
If not, can anyone give me any sensible suggestions on how I can lower the rear?
I need to drop it roughly 4 inches, if possible.
