Hi, I'm back with even more speculations on the M50B20 engine/drive train
This time it's with the clutch.
As I am upgrading my 320i E36 in small portions, but deffinetly will end up having 15-20 HP and some torque more than normally, I would think that
a part that could easily become a problem is the clutch.
I don't know how many horse powers the clutch can take (228mm) but looking at the 325i and 323i they also use the 228mm discs. What I wonder is why the 323i and 328i uses a 240mm (as the M's) but the 323TI compact uses a 228mm as well as the others.
Can I take a clutch from a 323TI or 325i and put it into my 320i? or do I even have to? does the 320i's standard clutch deal fine with the same power as a 323i? (as it normally uses a bigger disk, but the TI compact dosen't?)
Also, I'm thinking, how do you tell what kind of power the clutch can deal with? as I can see (just looking on the net and in shops) the 320i and 325i clutch are the same? (please verify this?)
I look forward to hearing from you all
Merry Christmas and a happy new year.
