Well it's a sound theory of how they advertise them, the rubber ones fitted as standard WILL twist as they are just rubber, even more with age and abuse.

I thought the rubbers in my calipers were OK, but when i got a rebuild kit and compaired the new ones to the old ones it was safe to say the old ones are fooked.

As for eliminating the knock i can't say - is it just a knock under braking ?

Only when going slow around town. Sometimes the n/s/f will knock. Checked every possibility even changed pads etc

I'll do some more research and if it comes up trumps i'll put my name down on the list.

Have you checked your junk mail folder for a reply?

Yep just when going slow. Bushes on the car are fine. I think it could be the caliper twisting, the cars nearly 15 years old.

Which brake pads are you using? and how much rotor do you have left?
Some non-oem pads don't have the clip that snaps them into the calipers piston. This leaves them to slap around

Wire brush on a drill with verious mixes of nasty chemicals.

I got my sliders from pelican parts. If you can't get a company to do a group buy i'm sure anyone with basic skills on a lathe will be able to make them. Some time in the near future I plan on replicating a few myself.

Thanks Kiwi, i've tried different pads from textar, pagid and mintex. All had the metal clip to hold it in place. The discs seems to have plenty of meat left on them yet but has a slight lip

Might take the plunge and go for oem pads as I think DD said they come with rubber shims?
