    Hi,

As above I have a E92 MSport that has covered 45K in the 2 and a bit years we have owned it, I'm 12K away from my next service but have noticed that on poor road surfaces with rippled and broken tarmac there is slight percussive feedback and a slight knock from the front offside that wasn't there before. It almost feels like something is loose and/or worn prematurely not surprising considering the state of the roads round halifax and huddersfield though.

Based on my experience with other cars I'd guess it's drop link or arb bush related but others may have had similar and might be able to point out a definitive cause before I get BMW to look at it under warranty.

    Cheers

    GD

    Hi mate,

I always say that dampers last approx 60K - can last much longer but become 'soft'

Bushes can last 20K or 100K depending on the car - replace with polly bushes

Thanks for the response, and I agree most modern cars I've driven the bushes tend to turn to chocolate around 50K give or take a few thou.

I think I'll have to wait for it to get a bit worse, my experience of garages is that unless something is falling off your car they can't tell that there's a problem :(

But then, they aren't driving your car day in and day out so aren't going to know when something 'feels different'.

    Cheers
