    I just brought a M5 (e60).
I found it hard to believe when I was told it never had any brakes work i.e original pad and disks as the car has traveled 65000 km.

Previous owner was a sedate hot runner long distance driver.

My front pads are at 12mm (both sides) rear 10mm

Disks are front 32 and rear 28.

Does that sound like it could be true.?

And my question is what are the thickness of new pads and new disks. i cant find the information anywhere on new thickness of pads or disks

    Cheers

    John

Ok thanks, good question I will find out. I read that 32 and 28 off the 100 point check where it has the brake info.

Ok so now do you think it would be possible for a m5 to have traveled 65000km and still have the original pads (at the measurements I said) on it ?

    Autodata doesn't list the M5.

36mm thick when new for fronts discs.

    Rear discs. 24mm. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...72&hg=34&fg=12

Is all I can find at present. CRN will be able to help.
