I had the read pads changed on my 535d, and the sensor wire - the error has not cleared from the dash! does the ecu need a reset to clear the error?

    Thanks

are you on about "i drive" warning for worn pads??
if so you need to reset in the i drive
when i reset mine for oil and pollen filters, mot and inspection etc,,i did this
get into car,,,DO NOT touch any pedals,,insert card,,DO NOT touch brake pedal ,press START button..( NOTE,ENGINE WILL NOT START)
you are now in i drive for resetting service lamps,,press check button to get brake symbol up in centre display( between speedo and rev counter )
    then reset it
this is from memory so might have some errors
if it is not related to service lamp reset ,ignore all of the above

On my e90 you get in turn ignition in, hold the trip reset in till an exclamation in a triangle appears and then disappears and then you are I to reset mode . Might be a similar way on you 5?. Mine would reset though as the dimwit who fitted the brakes busted the pins on both sensors!!. Was cash in hand, should've done it myself, lesson learnt.
