I had braided hoses put in today along with, new grooved discs, and textar pads. Garage said they had them bedded in, all good I thought.
Got out of the garage, pedal was kinda firmish, good braking power, didn't really go above 30-40 mph ..
Get on the motorway, tap the brakes now and then, all good, nice and firmish. Now unluckily I suddenly had to do an emergency brake, from 85mph down to a standstill.
Jesus christ, the brake pedal literally extended so far down it must have been like a cm from the floor !!!!! It was literally like I just had a pie replaced instead of pads !
I was terrified so kept a stupidly big gap infront of me. The rest of the journey home and the brakes seemed fine but felt a bit sloppy now..
Then I went along some dual carriage ways and now the brakes feel kinda spongy and just not really firm.
I beleived the braided hoses were supposed to really firm up the pedal but tbh the rubber oem ones feel better if not the same.
What is going on here? Why did my brake pedal go all the way down so farr ? Why is my brake pedal so spongy now ?
Car is a e46 330d 2004 m sport touring. ( thought I'd put it in here as it's a general brake question )
