Been sent some spax lowering springs, but when ive looked at the part number they are for a 330 petrol, not a diesel! What difference will it make?

fronts maybe questionable as the diesel lump is a heavy beast..

depends if they are specific or rated higher for the heavier lump but i cannot see it myself ive never seen an eibach prokit springs that do 330 petrol and the diesel they are seperate and different kits for the application due to the sprung weight of the car..
330i sport a big chunk of berlin...

Like Doggy said, the 330d engine is about 100kg heavier than the 330i engine, so although the 330i springs will physically fit, the car will sit too low, probably scrape the sump on bumpy roads, and not be stiff enough either (i.e. a bit wallowy). Also expect premature shock wear as they're working well out of their normal range.
