hi folks... your invaluable wealth of knowledge is needed !!!!
i have got my new wheels and now want to lower my e46 by 10 - 15 mm to make them fill the arches better.
my question is... do i go with a set of lowering springs or should i get a complete lowering kit including dampers? also should i get an alignment done after the car has been lowered....??

Hi Phil, I've moved your thread to the correct forum

Ideally, no expense spared you should replace the shocks all around also.

Very often the vehicles suspension is forgotten about and only ever worked on/upgraded when a problem arises.

IMO you will gain far better results when replacing both shocks and springs. If you were dropping 40mm or lower then you would definitely be advised to replace both anyway.

ALWAYS have a four wheel alignment CHECK at least when you have had ANY suspension work carried out on the vehicle

i don't think you will be able to get it lowered by 10-15 mm unless you use sport springs, eibach do a 30mm front 20mm rear spring kit, you don't need to change the shocks with such drop however bearing in mind mileage etc it would be best to change shocks aswell also do the top mounts front and rear after all you don't want to be replacing these items in the near future paying out for labour or your own time again, standard replacement shocks would be ok for this drop.
