    hi
    can anybody help me???
    i have a 316i 2001 sallon,,,,under 40,000 miles and the brakes shreech like a taxi... i have put new pads on front and back but they sound just as bad, this has been going on for months.... do i need to change my discs??? if so whats the best make to buy

    Was anti-squeek compound applied correctly to the pads?
    Any error lights on the dash for brakes?

    Copper grease between the pads and the calipers will cure your problem.

    thanks guys.... but a mechanic fitted them.... he thought that there was no copper grease so he done that first then changed all the pads

    Did he chamfer the brake pads?

    Also if fitted to old discs then there's every chance of getting noise from the brakes.
