    On a similar topic..
Have got my powerflex bushes for my 316i Compact, made sure I got the correct ones, question is How do you get the outer (black) bush into the lollypops?
How have people managed it 'With no special tools' to quote the instructions

I have spent about 3 hours trying to get the first one in and not succeeded.
Have the option of using the press in my local garage for a charge but being tight don't want to if I don't have to.

    Help
    Boyo

Done that, all that happened was it compressed by about 10mm.
Do they just suddenly 'pop' in after putting constant pressure on them?
BTW just using 6 inch Record vice.
Maybe the press is the easier option then

are you using the silicon grease too?
a vice should be ok but put a block of wood the same size as the bush on the flat part of the black bit

Thanks for all the info and help from all on here

Finally got the bushes pressed in by a local engineering company. Was very simple to fit to the lower wishbones.Car finally back on its wheels, now all I have got to do is get the 4 wheel alinement done in the morning. Got some new shocks/springs coming so the car will be as good as new

Will let you all know how the bushes make the car feel in the coming weeks.

If anyone needs their powerflex bushes pressing in I can do it at work (in my dinner time of course ) I am thinking of doing it on an exchange basis so once I get your old ones I will send out the new ones.Just gauging interest at the moment.PM me if your interested.BTW will be doing it for cost of postage

    Boyo

    Hello people,

I said in a previous post I would let you all know how the powerflex bushes made the car feel and any improvements in the handling.

All I can say is is that it has made a huge difference to the way the car is handling now.
Even though the shocks and springs were 'tired' when turning into bends the car felt alot more planted like I knew what the wheels were doing and could not only push the car abit harder it felt more stable.
There was no difference to the ride quality no adverse knocks or squeaks.

I for one will be shouting from the rooftops about the merits of fitting these bushes to any car(if they make them).
So overall time will tell if they continue to perform as good as they do now,I have already done 1000miles,so here's to the future

Hope this helps anyone thinking about changing to these bushes-DO IT

    Boyo
