    Hi all interestes in the motech springs, dont know if i shold stick to the 40mm or 60mm, what will i have to do if lowering by 60mm i.e. bumpstops etc...

    Am running standard alloys pictured in my sig below (16's)

    Suggestions welcome good or bad!

    Cornering and looks to be honest, am hoping to get a full set of shocks soon, and thought i may aswell do the springs at the same time, to save me taking it apart later on, thought 60mm would be too low.

    I have a 30/20mm drop with Boge Turbo, I never wanted to lower mine from standard and this was the minimal M-tech specific drop I could find. I also did the all the bushes, links, M-tech shocks at the same time.

    Car sits great, handles breath takingly well and ALL the ride comfort has been retained. (Most probably as I did not use boy racer brand parts).

    You have to remember the underside of the 3 series is low any way and I cannot get over those stupid speed bumps that just poke out in the middle of your lane. I have to wait unitil I can use both to drive over! So 40mm drop is the very most you want. If you have a 60mm drop kiss good buy to your ride comfort and start saving to replace everythng that starts to get ripped from from underneath your car.

    i agree , a 60 mm drop will ruin the ride and hit speed bumps, if you have to lower it, 40 should be a maximum. i have the same car , mtec 323 1999 and that is standard suspension and that handles great, fantastic even, and its still comfy.
    if i were you i would just tighten up the suspension with soeme poly bushes and spend the cash on an m50 manifold.
    my 323i is way better than standard, full power so feels great, ceramic brake pads and new discs, clutch valve removed, drives 100 times better than when i first got it!

    Where is this clutch valve and whats its purpose and what will i gain, is the m50 manifold less resrticted or something? will the manifold be a straight swap, are they a bugger to change? Thanks

    Eibach pro springs all the way!

    M50 manifold is good for 15-20 bhp. Needs modifying to fit. Can be done diy but a lot easier and no risk of air leaks if you buy a pre-modified one from forum member alpina527 - feel free to pm him for more information on his kits.

    i fitted alpina 527 manifold, great bit of kit! different car completley when fitted.
    the clutch delay valve is a valve in line with the slave cylnder, when you change gear no matter how quick you lift the pedal up the clutch returns at the same speed, making it jerky and you get a spongy feel, with this removed the clutch engages as soon as you release the padal making a much more positive feel, try it, it takes 10 mins to remove and no parts needed.

    i agree with clark988 on this one too, if you alter the hight of the suspension you will have to alter camber and caster to stop tyre wear, keep is standard i say much more usable everyday and they handle well enough.
