Good evening guys,
Ive just returned home from a lovely trip down the coast which included a lovely rag about the new forest, there are some awesome roads do there!!
however it has shown me I need to upgrade my brakes. With a lot of heavy braking the brakes got pretty hot and became somewhat useless.
it got to the point where I was braking hard, and no matter how much harder I pressed on the pedal there was no increase in braking power. (i presume due to the brakes being hot?)
can anyone recommend a good cost effective upgrade for me?
Ive been thinking about a couple of options...
new front discs (possibly 40 grooved Tarox), with a good set of pads, probably Tarox again but im not sure if ther do any for the 318is... (I had this set up on my previous car along with some braided hoses, I noticed a massive difference, but dunno if I should do this option again as the discs are £200 per pair, and pads over £100 per pair :O )
I remember a thread a while ago which said you could upgrade the discs and pads on a 318is to larger sized ones which are fitted as standed to a different model, possibly a 328. IIRC the discs were larger and the pads, and the thread stated they can be bought from BMW for under £150.... can anyone point me in the direction of this thread??
Any suggestions on good disc/pad combinations?
