    You are welcome Barry...

    0265 217 000
Thats the part number. Is has now been replaced by 0265 217 002...

Ive just had a look Barry and the whole lot has to come off. Sorry mate..
Its is saying remove the hydraulic unit so all the brakes will need to be bled..
Yours is a very early one that was also fitted to the E34. I have not come across one of these and the ones I have done have been the screw off type. But the unit itself is not difficult to replace, its just gonna be a pain bleeding the brakes afterwards..

Thanks Steve, Just one more question, What's your gut feeling about this repair, Is it common and I did read somewhere today that a relay could be the problem, You can tell I am in the dark.

    Thanks Barry

Its very common on the newer units. I have done 4 at work 3 on 7 series and 1 on 5 series. I have a faulty unit in my toolbox which i will post a pic of..
BUT. Fotr what they cost it may be worth replacing the relay before pulling all that off. All the faulty units I came across had wheel speed sensor codes but nothing wrong with the speed sensors. The circuits for the sensors had burnt out in the modules..

    Morning All,

Another week gone and another £136.00 spent and still my ABS and Traction lights are on !!
Getting really annoying now , Steve or anybody got any ideas.
    Logged N/S/F sensor (replaced)
    Fault N/S/F Wheel bearing (replaced)
Fault Control unit on abs pump (pump replaced)
    Reported all wiring checked .....
We can not be defeated (it's only a car)
What is the permitted gap between sensor and bearing ?
    Appreciate any help.
    Barry

Hi Barry. When you replaced all of these did you get the fault memory read and erased afterwards..

have you got a multimeter Barry. I have some links I can send to you on monday when I get back to work which gives you the pin positions in the ABS connector block to work from. I would test for a resistance at the sensor first, then work back along the wiring...
