Driving home from the gym today, as I gently set off from a roundabout (behind a ford transit), my car started making a faint sreeching and grinding sound from the n/s/r corner. Based on the symptoms below, does it sound like my brake shoes have reached their life expectancy?
- When I did did my rear discs and pads about 1 year ago, my trusty mechanic advised that my rear brake shoes need doing, but will last a while longer.
- I have also notcied that for some time, when I release the handbrake, the n/sr rear corner (even on a steep hills) sticks until I move the car a couple of yards (by putting it in gear and attempting to drive off) and then I hear another faint sound of something back there in that corner clicking as its being released and feeling more free.
- At the moment there are no vibrations or anything and the sound is always there regardless of speed.
It sounds bloody embarrasing at the moment!
