Hi there, could anyone let me know if the rear springs off a 99 e36 m3 convertible will fit my 97 e36 328 convertible. If so are they likely to need new shocks etc and will they alter the handling characteristics of the car?
    Thanks in advance....

No mate, tbh i want to change springs cos car sits about 2" lower on drivers side rear - thought spring broken, but after having it on ramps, not only spring not broken, but drivers side looks new! (only had the car a week) Jacked it up to get under it and drop the oil, and osr tyre was half under arch, so when finished jacked up from other side, and tread just about reached the wheel arch. So i decided to change both rear springs to try and level it up, found a pair off an m3 vert being broken for £55 delivered, just wanted to check they would fit and i wouldnt have to buy anything else at the same time (plus gonna have to disconnect shocks to change springs). Just trying to get it all sorted in one go....

Maybe someone fitted the wrong replacement spring?!

Worth a shout getting them of the breaker, or for not much more money you could actaully go out and buy a set of Eibach springs and a small lowering..... get all 4 changed then plus they are dead easy to do

If your car feels like it is bouncing around the show then the dampers may need replacement, I tend to recommend the dampers to be replaced around 70,000 miles (approx)
