Fitted a new pair to my front brakes and now i have this awful squeal intermittentlly .I noticed the pads were stiff to get back on when renewing is this the most likely reason i.e. the build up of rust etc on the holders both sides caliper and non caliper?
    1997 323i e36 saloon model..
    cheers in advance

if you put a dab of high melting point grease (copperslip) on your caliper just where the ears of the pads sit. and a small amount where the piston touches the back of the pad.
do not let any grease get onto the disc or friction material
    what i've felt,what i've known
never shined through in what i've shown.
