    Hi all i want to lower my car as the springs are standard and i have a sent of 18`s to go on once repainted.Can anyone please tell me how much i can loer the car with 18`s on as i was thinking 40mm would be right


    TO DO LIST
    Lowering springs(done)
    Uprated brake hoses
    Uprated electric fans
    Inlet manifold conversion
    Alloy wheels

    depends on a multitude of things and so you won't get a simple answer - it'll depend on things like wheel specs i.e. width, offset, tyre profile etc.. a better question might be to ask what other people are running to get an idea??.. or use the search function as it's been covered a lot before..

    just to give you some idea i ran 224/45/18s on my last bmw and that was lowered 65mm with no rubbing even when fully loaded
    bmw + rain = hanging out with your tail out

    your wheel offset has a bigger influence over how far you can lower a car as it dictates clearance between wheel and spring perch or wheel and wing.. I dunno.. maybe my earlier post was invisible!

    i did read ur post

    thats what i ran on my last bmw and it was spot on with 4 people in the car and a load of suit case's in
    bmw + rain = hanging out with your tail out
