Vented discs are better. No question about it.

Vented are usually a different size than solid, so probs won't fit without other work.
But on a 1.6, you wont need vented

An you might wanna sort your thread title out before a Mod see you :P

You will need the vented discs, calipers and caliper carriers

If you browse ebay then I'm sure you will find these items. If you cannot then give me a shout and I'll supply you with the link as I know exactly where they are

I fitted Mintex discs and pads to the front of my old E36 (1996) 316i Compact. Went straight on and vastly reduced stopping distance. I bought those off ebay. Your best off taking a wheel off and double checking the size before ordering. Im sure I only paid £50 or £60.

but there are lots of vented discs on ebay, and the seller states that they will go straight on, no mods required. are they lying about them? i mean, i intend to buy some, at some point, and i was thinking about the vented ones. should i stick to solid?

your car, being a heavier and more powerful 6 pot will already have vented discs and therefore the appropriate calipers
