Thanks for the replys guys, Yes the handbrake seems to work on the drivers side however its no where near enough to hold the car, The main problem is for it to work correctly i have to adjust it so its seriously binding but the disc gets so hot you could fry an egg on it !! What really annoys me is the passenger side works fine but they are both adjusted the same. It's really annoying me now. Surely there is a problem i'm overlooking but thankyou for the suggestions

Might need stripping down and rebuilding again. I'm getting my car ready for its MOT and can't get the o/s/r to hold even when the ladder screw has been tightened up to the fullest. Drums are like new and shoes have plenty of life left in them.

I'll change the cable and whilst i'm there give everything a clean up and see why its not holding.

    Did you get yours sorted?

I'm having same problem with o/s park brake, but it's definitely a stretched cable, any tips on how to get the old one out of wheel? or is it just a lot of wd40 and bfi?
