Hi everyone, after driving through the Snake Pass I decided that I want better brakes in my coupe - more stopping power and more resistance to fading.
The maximum I would be willing to spend is £300.
Here is my plan at the minute, what do you think?
- upgrade the brake lines to Goodridge stainless steel braided
- drain the old brake fluid (which is of unknown quality) and fill the lines with Motul RBF600
- replace discs with the same sized Brembo Max for both front and rear.
- install some good brake pads - there seems to be quite a choice here, Ferodo, Mintex, EBC, Brembo, etc... I'm not really sure how they compare against each other - I was looking at Redstuff for both front and rear.
It would all amount to some ~270 quid, but I will have to pay for fitting so it's actually slightly over my budget.
And before you suggest going for bigger brakes, I have 16" alloys and I really like them, so no M3/330Ci brakes for me
Any hints / advice will be most appreciated.
