Default A20 RYM Coupe project, so close but so far away - Rest In Pieces

Well guys, I wasted no time. As I mentioned my coupe is now my number one priority.

Today I spent some time going through the wiring in the engine bay. I had noticed that an earth wire had broken off of it's plastic holder so I have cut the one off of the spare loom that I purchased and soldered and the wires on to it (9 in Total)

I have also managed to get my head around the discrepancies in wiring and successfully re-wired my horns so that they now work The problem here was that I am using my 1992 M-Tech steering wheel with a 1995 M3 loom which had an air bag type steering wheel.

I then moved onto the fault that led me to bimmerforums many months ago. I shall update the thread and post a link in here soon. The problem has not been resolved but I have done a little more fault finding

No sign of any work Tomorrow so I shall be out there cracking on with it once I have called the employement agencies again

Oh, just so you know. Some of the reasoning behind the wiring issues is because the M3 donor was involved in a front end smash so a lot of the wiring has needed to be cut and joined, soldered and insulated

I also need to re-route my power cable that now extends to the battery in the boot which requires a new hole to be drilled through the bulk head as at the moment it is passing through the grommet that the ABS sensors pass through.

I did most of my wiring before I worked in the ESVA centre which means that I am have to go back over my work to ensure that it is all up to scratch so that I do not have problems in the future once all of the interior goes back in

Good work Rym, shame about the lack of work ATM - but at least the "Dream Machine" is on the road to recovery...

Keep it up buddy, nice weather for it too!

Cheers guys, It's about time I get it sorted out.

It's annoying getting nice comments about the car and then having to explain it's off the road and WHY!!!

I hope I find proper work very soon as things are becoming very tight but I'm going to make the most of any spare time calling agencies and working on the car

Next midlands meet at yours, 20 people working on the coupe, have it finished in no time.
A fair return for all the help you have given us members I reckon.
