Ok, only a thought at the moment, been thinking of supercharging my e46.

What am I likely to gain/loose with a supercharger? Cars done nearly 140k, has a performance back box, no secondary cats and a pipercross induction kit. Also a remap would be added along with a super charger.

    Are they worth it?

i will be charging my 2,8 z3 soon not a lot of people doing this cus of cost really am using the vf super charger kit the only thing is my car has 60k on the clock i dont think i would if it was 140k on the clock thats not to say it woudnt be fine but kind of makes sence on a lower mile car. cons are cost and will defo add the engine wear and stress on drive train pros loads of foot welded to the floor fun but my car ist a daily driver its just a toy dont think would my self if car was a daily driver but thats just me

For a good kit you are looking at £4k plus it would put a strain on the internals at 140k.
Sell up and put the cash towards a M3.

Exactly what I was thinking Mr. Sideways. I know the M3 is a different beast all together, it's just insurance and general running costs would be the issue!

In terms of the re-map, any thoughts on that? Without the SC of course.

Breathing mods are done, as I said its got a pipercross forced air induction kit, decent back box and no secondary cats. So everything should be pretty free flowing!

the sensible choice is to sell up and put the money towards an m3 as your insurance will go up anyway with the supercharger declared etc
but its deffiantely more unique having it supercharged! even though my car has been supercharged for a while now the sound of that whine still puts a smile on my face!

    Mmm, supercharger whine!

To be honest, I think I'll just stick with the re-map along with the breathing mods I currently have. Thing is, it's a daily driver and my toy, so I hate to say it but MPG has to still be kept reasonable...

I had the pleasure of installing the Active Autowerke 325 Supercharger kit on Carlos' BMW 325. I just drove the car today and I was impressed. The power comes on quick and strong and is very driveable.
