Never tried, I thought it would not fit, because of the difference in intake port shape between the 8V and 16V engines.

You wanted to get a smaller M42 intake - like the old M30 with the large plenum and without all the DISA work ? I hear that it will give a little more high end power but at the expense of low end torgue....

Hi! did you use the standard obd2 ecu and loom? I have a m43 and wish to fit m42 head and internals, but to use n/a for rallying. please advise.

The M43 is not an OBD2, at least one as old as min (98) isn't. That is also the main reason why it doesn't exist in the US market.

All the loom, sensors and ECU was kept as it was - only modification was the DISA delete.

the main reason to keep the m43 block is that the knock sensors will fit into it. The M42 does not have knock sensors. Other than that, you probably could, but do not expect the harness and connectors to fit completely.
