    it depends what supercharger etc

    Are you buying a kit?

if you search this forum there is loads of info on it...

If you buy from active autowerke then you will get a remapped chip for your ECU...and you will from the only other kit supplier I know of...
and I cant remember them at the moment
Look a few thread below this one as its in there.

technique tuning do a superb turbo kit for the 328i

the main problem with using US turbo kits on Uk cars is there exhaust manifolds and all intercooler pipework are for a left hand drive car.
This is a problem as the crappy RHD steering rack gets in the way big time on the E36.
but it can be worked around.

    I would say

1/ use the eprom supplied with the kit
2/piggyback like perfect power but they are very complex and hard to set up (expensive)
3/ standalone is the best solution if you are going for BIG POWER but you will lose driveability and 'stock bmw' characterstics no matter who maps it...there will be niggles. (eg/ poor cold starting, higher idle etc)

Yes! However, I need to fit the existing bits I have bought to mine before I even think about buying more. It's scary I have about £1500-2K's of bits waiting to be fitted!
