hi guys looking into supercharging the IS and am looking on the mini forums and they seem to be selling the superchargers for average £50 - £100, obv with 30k miles etc,

how much work is really needed to do this?? and what parts do i need to do this other than the charger itself??
i just want to know exactly everything i need pref from ppl who have done similar stuff before,

rough cost to fab the manifold?? to mount the charger to the engine??

    cheers guys!!!

the mini s/c s not big enough for the m42/m44 engine

you need something bigger, merc s/c if you are looking to do it cheap.

manifold will not be cheap to fab unless you know somebody.
i initially looked into diy, but it really isn't worth it on the money front or the aggro and time factors.

Turbo is a cheap option, manifolds can be bought from the states and the rest could be sourced reasonable cheaply here in the UK

capacity of the mini blower is too small, does not pump enough volume for the M44/M42

Merc blower - c230k maybe, just a guess, probably going to run into manifold mounting problems whatever you choose

maybe try and source a s/c from ebay in the US

turbo ?? i dont know, there are so many about. again check out US ebay, lots on there normally including kits.

they still work out cheap even with import duty and courier
