Im looking for some info on turbo charging either a e30 325i or a e34 525i,I have noticed a few cheap turbo kits going for the £600-700 mark which screams AVOID from the start as i would expect the turbo alone to cost close to that.

I have heard the stock internals on the 325i can take up to 450 safely,I would not be looking for more than that on this build at this time.

I haven't brought the car yet but would like a e30 or e34, im just testing the water i have a budget of 4-5k for the conversion with the intentions of doing all the work my self is this a viable budget?.

I have played with saabs most of my life currently have a 9-5 aero stage 4 350bhp/450nm its fun but i have been through 2 gear boxes in the last 12 months which is their weak point so i have reached the limits i can take the saab unless i fork out 4k for a quife g box no thanks!

So yeah im looking into boosting an old e30/e34

Can anybody shed some light as to where i can get good quality parts from the conversion rather than the very cheap tat that's on ebay?

    Kind regards

    Ash

That is a viable budget .

What parts exactly are you looking for?
And are you aware of what parts you need so far?

Hi thanks for the reply, im not 100% sure on all of the parts i would need but i would assume.

exhaust manifold, is there off the shelf items that can be purchased?

Turbo ( which turbo is best suited? )

Ecu, is there available ecus programed to engine spec or will it need live mapping?

Head gasket to lower compression, uprated head bolts and conrod bolts

Inter cooler, can source that my self.

Im after more info on weather uprated fuel pumps, fuel pressure regulators, injectors etc are needed

Live mapping using a standalone would be ideal in your case.

get a walbro pump, stock fuel pressure regulator is fine, you´ll need 440cc´s are bigger.
