Hello everyone I have a few questions that i hope some people can answer for me, it took me a while to find the right forums for my questions and i hope u guys can assist me. First I have a 2003 318D diesel with turbo and I am adding an MagnaFlow exhaust system tomorrow, I was told some exhaust system may ruin your turbo and engine if u dont do couple things to your engine. Also i will like to add a bigger blow off valve to my turbo, but a mechanic told me doing that will ruin my engine, is that true? And what else can i add to my car to get more HP and a better sound? Thank you very much and i hope i can get some answer

Blow off valves are for petrol turbo engines. Diesel are extremely high compression engines and all a magna flow exhaust with a dump valve would do is lower back pressure to the point of loosing a lot of power. Easiest way to get more power is a remap, weight reduction or the better solution a bigger engine BMW.

the only thing thats worth doing to your engine is a remap.

Not strictly true, the 318d and 118d both have a detuned 2.0 litre block be it M47 or N47, the M47 318d was never sold in the UK but is a 2.0litre engine.

It will therefore comfortably tune to 200ps and can be pushed high but will affect driveablity
