It would be cheaper and more reliable doing an engine swap for a more powerful unit. Big bucks to turbocharge........would be an interesting car though.
I know engine conversion would be cheaper but i like the sound of a turbo and being to turn it low and use 1.8 running costs and turn it up for fun waste petrol times :silly
do you know how i can find out my engine model and what bhp it is ment to put out at the mo?
I've looked up my engine code and think it's an m40? Does it have uprated parts? And if so what parts? I've been told and heard some 1.8's are bullitt proof, can anybody tell me if this is true?
i dont think your engine is a m40 because your car is a 1997. Bmw only used the m40 engines in the e36's from 1991 to the latest a 1993 post a pic of your engine and i'll will tell you if its a m43 or a m40 :thumbsup
