Hi Guys/Girls i have a z3 single vanos m52 2.8 (Alum) engine, i have also purchased a m50 Block from an e36 325 (Cast iron) my idea is to use everything from the m52 engine except for using the m50 block as it will be alot stronger for FI setup..

my question is can i use the alluminium head on the cast iron block ?

also when purchasing parts like arp head studs n gaskets
would i choose to purchase parts suitable for m52 or m50 engine??

im confused because im using parts from both engines and i read somewhere that the head studs are slighty longer on the m52 aluminum engine there for i dont wanna purchase anything just yet..

on another note i will be documenting the whole thing including short vids and pics of the engine build and i will have it posted in the projects section...
so i can help others when the time comes along

    Kind Regards James.....

Why dont you just use the M50 head? They should be easy to find.
Alloy heads on steel blocks is very common and has been for 50+ years.
With great challenges comes great engineering.
