Default aux points in E46 stereo

is there any aux points in the back on the standard e46 stereo?
im trying to find a way of conecting my ipod but dont want to change the head unit, or have a ratio transmitter, is there any way?

There is no Aux as standard, but in a 2004 car you should be able to fit one easily to the back of the radio, but it does depend on exactly what radio you have. If it's a Business head unit or Professional Nav you should be OK, if Business Nav (small orange screen) then I don't think you can.

In which case it will be Aux capable in a 2004 car.

CORRECT! yeah its the same as that,
how do i get the radio out, and will there be a aux socket in the back or would i have to buy a loom?

Remove the trim strip arround the dash with a screwdriver wrapped in a soft cloth starting from the ends, it just pulls out, then unscrew and slide out.

See previous link for what's required. It's basically a 10 pin plug (you may have to 'merge' the pins with one that's already there) with a wire and small resistor/capacitor network (so that the head unit can detect it) terminating in a standard jack socket that goes in the glove box.

When fitted, the 'MODE' button on the head unit gets an extra source that you cycle through, Radio -> CDC -> CD -> Aux -> Radio etc.
