    Hi,

I am new to the forum. I am looking to upgrade my stereo system. I bought a Harman Kardon speaker upgrade kit for an BMW M3 E46 Coupe and I am looking for a specialist in the South East to install/retrofit. Any recommendations? Preferably London/Kent/Surrey.

Which aftermarket kits are you referring to, could you give me the brands and models and if possible the approximate prices?

well it depends on what your looking to replace,
    head unit?
    fronts?
    rears?
    if you want a sub?
if you want to amp your set up?

for the fronts you would be looking at 5.5 inch components,
have a look around on the net, this website is very good on price
    http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/pro...omponents.html
it depends on how much you want to spend, anything under 100 will be a definate improvment on what you have
i dont know what size rears fit the coupe, you would have to do some reasearch

as for the HU, there are hundreads it depends what you want really, alpine do some nice ones with the orange illumnation that maatches the bmw good, but it all comes down to if you want cd/mp3/ipod/hands-free etc to which one you chose and how much it will cost, 200 will get you a good one, but there will be bargains to be had on ebay

sub depends on how much room you want to take up, where you want to put it, hoe big you want it,

amps will have to be suitable to power your speakers and or sub

I would like to keep the look as OEM as possible, my budget for the HK is 500 so I could spend this amount on a new complete quality system (front and rears with a discreet sub/amp if possible. I am not into having very loud systems, for me sound quality is the most important (good balance between bass/treble/no reverb, etc).

Thanks for the info I will have a look later at that website.

As for headunits, I tried to contact tv-in-motion/pegasussl in scotland regarding the replacement oem -look headunits they sell (found a link in a previous thread - http://www.tv-in-motion.co.uk/bmw_headunit.html) but after 3 days have still not had a reply from them?? - has anyone had any experience with them?
