my passenger door speaker has gone quite so i think its seen better days! looks like am gonna have to upgrade the speakers in the front.

Its got the BMW Business tape deck with CD changer in the boot so what speakers can i buy for direct replacement? or is it not that simple?

Depends on budget really, there are converter rings available for the front doors as standard they only have 3 screws hold them to the door, think you will find they them take 13cm speaker, from what I found on here, you have a depth of about 5.5 cm to play with, but if you read though the posts on here in the ice section, there is loads of info. I'd say say less than 50 quid for a pair and It's not really worth the effort,

you have less than 5.5cm, its 2" inch max depth,

there is a DIY guide in my sig, for the convertable, i belive it is almost the same on a coupe, if not exactly the same,

I put rainbows in mine, which are a direct replacment, you can see in my DIY they fit perfect with no messing about, and they sound great, but they are pricey,

As said above you can get converter rings like these: http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/pro...s_id/1891.html but you may find them on ebay cheaper: http://shop.ebay.co.uk/i.html?_from=...All-Categories

then you have a choice of what speaker to put in, go for components over co-axle as they sound better, the speaker adapter will allow you to fit any 5.25" components like: http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/pro...omponents.html

as said above, and i said at the begging the only trouble you now have will be the depth of the speaker, between the screws on the speaker and the base of the magnet can be no deeper than 2" as the metal of the door is in the way, this does limit your choice of speaker some what

the standard speakers are pretty rubbish tbh, but you can probably get a pair for 20 on ebay

What sort of budget were you looking at? if you look at speakers around 50-100 you would get a decent set of components, that would make the world of diffrence in terms of sound quality

It may be worth ringing a few CAR audio places and and tell them that you want shallow speakers
