I've not owned my BMW for long so i'm looking for some experience please..

After pulling my handbrake up and on a slight incline, my car will roll a little before the handbrake grabs. Every car ive been in has never done this. Is it a normal twin thing? Is there any way to fix/stop this?

    Thanks.

The BMW handbrake is very outdated compared with other manufactures.

Most prestige brands use a cable to pull the rear caliper which makes the the pads bite onto the disc.

The BMW uses a cable to expand the shoes inside the rear disc.

There is a bit of play and its normal for the car to roll back just couple inches
