I lost my phone earlier and I asked a friend to phone it on Facebook... To my amazement my car alarm started beeping like mad! Now is that due do the vibration or do Bimmers pick up the signal when the car's been locked for a while to tell you its in the car...?
haha ive never heard this before but i guess it could have picked up on the internal vibrations or somewhere along the line the signal from the phone played with the alarm :thumbsup
I was thinking either the motion sensors going, (do they pick up sound?), Or is it a BMW feature to help you find your phone? If it is.. Im going to crack one! :lol
Think the alarms on bimmers are weird, My central locking and alarm will NEVER activate in asda car park near my house, Ive tried everything. But works perfect in the asda petrol station next door.
But it was in my cupholder.. it fits pretty well inbetween the push out holder tab thingys so it wouldnt have moved.. just vibrated in situe? surely the sensors cant pick that up?
Alternatively it could be the high power radio transmitter overloading the alarm receiver, as I've heard this can happen and trigger the alarm when you drive past a taxi radio transmitter.
If I thought I'd left my phone in my car I would ring it...............it set the alarm off.
Maybe its because it was a hyper-sensitive cab alarm?
