Hi guys, ive got a e46 but need to sell so looking for a goid diesel.just need dome advice on what a good diesel 3 series would be, heard about swirl flaps etc so kinda confused. So what do you guys think of this.
Thx for replies, so what should I look out for swirl flap problem? How can you tell? And what would be a good price for the above car? So i can have a idea of what to pay when i look at other cars.thx!
any facelift 320d will have swirl flaps fitted. best bet is if you do buy one get them removed asap and get blanking plugs fitted. Do a search on swirl flaps its come up a few times. I also agree with the others that first one does seem a bit overpriced i have seen facelift ones up for that with similar mileage.
A good first question would be to ask the seller whether the swirl flaps are still in place. If they have been removed with bills to prove then the chances are its been well looked after - even if he simply knows what you are on about it suggests a well informed owner which is a good thing usually. I'd be checking closely to satisfy myself that the 71k mileage seems accurate - it might well be - if it genuinely has got a full BMW SH then thats a pretty good sign.
The second one is a better priced vehicle and the advice above is good advice. Only thing that puts me off with that one is the M3 reps but thats just my opinion.
Didnt manage to go see it, couldnt make time after work, but I did have a chat and I was concerned by the number of owners, 4 including current and 1 was from a leasing company.
