    The obligatory hello!

Got into E28's a little while back by chance; I was scouring Ebay for an affordable rwd motor that was a little bit different to the usual stuff that's running around my area. Thinking of not-quite-true-classic Ford's like XR4i's or fairly beat up Jap stuff like 200SX's I was nicely suprised to find an '87 525i with a bit of tax and MOT for not a lot of money...I looked at nothing else, shot down to Swansea and bought it after a brief stint in the passenger seat. Haven't looked back since!
After being rescued from a breakdown (external fuel pump went, hardly the car's fault) by another passing E28 driver (a 525e, the only other road-bound E28 in my town as far as I know) I was introduced to his M535i that had to be sold. So I bought it, lol. Initially thinking I'd use it as a spares car I found it too good to break, so planned to restore her. Unfortunately due to financial circumstance I've been forced into breaking her after all, but for cash not to keep the spares (sigh). Luckily the 525i isn't really worth a lot so I get to keep her. She came off the road for a couple of jobs before the next MOT, hopefully she'll be ready before the end of May, we'll see...
That's about it BMW wise. My daily driver is an '07 KA, which has recently come off the road due to those same cash issues. Guess which car hits the tarmac first? Put it this way, those Ford badges will be getting quite dusty over the coming months...
Any South Wales E28 nuts? I'll be looking to join a general BMW club that's local soon, I'll have a look on this forum to see where you all are!

Nice one! My main mission is to build a forced induction 3.5 M30 for the 525i, a la sleeper stylee...But for now I'm happy to just enjoy owning such a well made car! I'll be on here a fair bit, seems like a tidy community ;-)
