    Hi all,

My name is Ian, I'm a 23 and currently driving a mg zr 1.4 (I no, I no) I have owned the car around 4 years now... cut to the case, just had a nice payrise and considering buying a bmw!

I am thinking, a 2004 ish 320ci coupe, or convertible (still not sure...?) from what I've seen, I love them....

So, I'm just after advice really. I'm looking to spend about £5k possibly upto £7k, but rather stay around the £5 mark, obviously upto £7k for a convertible. I love the 18" m sport wheels (rough price for tyres...?) So, what should I be looking out for? M sport is top of the range right? I love the sound of a hamden kardon stereo system and have seen some with tv/dvd/sat nav etc

Alot of the cars I see have 80k-100k on the clock, but, as I understand bmw's go on and on and on...? Would you guys consider 100k very high?

    Looking forward to the responses!

    Cheers,
    Ian

Nah 100k is not high at all depends if the car has been looked after though like any other car the better ya treat it the longer it lasts think the tyres for 18" mv2 wheels are around the £150 - £200 each

100k is just getting run in! But like any car, get a good one!

I'm not really sure what you mean by m sport being top of the range. With e46's it comprises of some or all of:
    body kit
    steering wheel
    alloys
    half leather
    suspension

The engine and drive train are exactly the same.

I would have thought top of the range of any particular engine sized model would be the one with the most optional extras on and the sport ones are basically an optional extra??

Tyres depends on how much you want to spend, for good ones expect to pay near the £100 mark for each corner

Cool, thanks for the info guys. Now not so worried about the milage!

What I meant by top of the range.... basically, the two cars I have brought, I've basically just decided on the car and brought the first one that was perfect, missing out on things like air con blah blah blah....

So basically just wanted to understand the models, so M sport is a optional extra, along with leather seats, heated seats, stereo upgrade, all that jazz...

Ok then, what are common faults to look out for? For example, MG ZRs common faults are things like, head gasket going, door locks grinding, both of which I've had the pleasure of fixing!

    Cheers,
