Want to buy from approved dealer but unsure of acceptable age and miles for used BMWs. Seen a 320 I M for £12,800. 2007 57 plate with 42k on the clock. Petrol. Any advice gratefully received. Current car is Citroen Belingo, so you can see I know nothing about cars

Sounds like a lot of dosh to me. They are good reliable cars however and with that mileage it should serve you for many years-depreceation will be savage though.

You can get a lot of car for 12k if I was you I would not rush into things with that sort of cash I know what your saying about warranty but privately you could save a lot more money there for get a lot better car aslong as you find the right one get the aa to check it over or something and look after it also you could spend a bit less get a nice 330 and spend the left over on insurance wouldn't buy a 320 for that money and if I was keeping it for 5 years or so

BMW 320CI, black badges, black grill and remapped

Cheers mate. I test drove a 320i SE, which I really liked. Was the Bus Edition 2009 59. £12850 with 54K on the clock. Just didn't like the colour :-) (silver) Any thoughts?

I'd just say take your time and try out different cars, especially the 6cyl diesels which are my favourite engine.
