The scanner will not tell you where the parts are, It will come up with a code eg P1186 O2 Sensor Heater Control Circuit (Bank 1 Sensor 2) but you are expected to have either a basic knowledge of cars and there workings or a Haynes/Bentley manual.
    What codes came up?

    What year 7 series?
Some codes are manufacturer specific, While there are others that are more uniform for all models,ie P0... codes etc.
