    Evening fellas.

I'm Chris, 25 and from South Shields. I'm an active member of the RS Owners club if anyone on here is familiar and have bought my first ever BMW this week.
If I'm honest, I've never really looked into these motors much until I had a drive of my mates 2007 M3 and all I can say is WOW! I've bought nothing near of that level I will add but another pal of mine had his up for sale for a good price so bought myself his e46 328i SE. It's an auto (the first auto I've owned also) but looks like it has been serviced well and is in fair condition although I think it's probably due a belt service.

I'll look forward to getting to know these cars inside out like I do my RS Turbos!

    Chris.

Hi mate and thanks for the welcome!

I'm on my smartphone at the minute but I'll sort a few pics out tomorrow and get them posted up!
As far as the Turbos are concerned, I've owned one since being 18 both the Fiesta and Escort RS turbo and yeah they can tend to have that boy racer appeal. You can normally tell a lot by the styling of the car. I'm more for the standard examples and maybe a few engine mods unlike some.
I suppose it's one of those, you'll probably never understand the appeal unless you've owned one.

    Hi mate and thanks.
Yeah I will sort a few pictures out tomorrow on my PC and get them posted up
I've got to admit, I'm loving the 328! I've been looking for excuses to go places just to get back in it! There's something I've learned already and that's the chain driven engine. The car is on 135k, is that something I should be concerned about yet or anything else for that matter? I've read up about cracked subframes and faulty water pumps but that's about it.

I'll take your advice on that one and do exactly that mate thanks. I've noticed quite a few on sites like ebay and autotrader with much higher mileage which are claiming to be faultless so that's a good thing to know. I was more concerned about the auto tranny than the engine but I guess they are quite strong too?
