It seems that a lot of Moderator time is being spent correcting Thread Titles and moving threads to their correct forums despite all the measures that have been put into place to prevent this!!!

This message appears when you are creating a thread for a reason and it is being constantly IGNORED

  • Please post in the correct section for the topic you are posting about. Take a minute to check through the forums list and find the correct forum or subforum.
  • Use a descriptive title for your thread and start it with your car details [For Example.] 2001 E46 330i - Intermittent cutting out and rough idle.
  • Remember, the more descriptive and well written your threads are, the more accurate and plentiful the help offered will be.

Increased Moderating time means LESS ASSISTANCE in threads which means less members gaining the information that they require in order to FIX THEIR CARS.

2 extra minutes taken by each and every member when creating a thread can free up hours of Moderating time.

So please adhere to these SIMPLE and EASY TO UNDERSTAND forum posting rules.

IF this situation does not improve then we will have no option but to DELETE threads created by REPEAT offenders.

Thank You for taking the time to re-familiarise yourselves with these forum posting rules:thumbsup

Bimmerforums UK Forum Guidelines
This is the beginning of what may (or may not) become a larger post but it outlines a few basic forum rules to keep the Bimmerforums house in order so to speak!

  • When making a post about a problem with your car, please list in your Thread Title the YEAR, MODEL CODE and MODEL of your car followed by a descriptive TITLE, (Example, 2001 E46 325i. Coolant Leak.) If you don't know the model code of your car then no problem, but at least include the year and model as a minimum with your Thread title.

Don't ignore these rules posted in Red when you start a New Thread, they are there for a reason!

  • Please post in the correct section for the topic you are posting about. Take a minute to check through the forums list and find the correct forum or subforum.
  • Use a descriptive title for your thread and start it with your car details [Example Thread Title] 2001 E46 330i - Intermittent cutting out and rough idle.
  • Remember, the more descriptive and well written your threads are, the more accurate and plentiful the help offered will be.

  • Please post your question in the CORRECT and RELEVANT forum. (read through the list, go into Subforums if needed and find the most appropriate one for your question. Incorrectly placed posts will be moved the first time, and deleted on subsequent occasions!)

  • Please try and include as much relevant information into your Thread title and post as possible...this enables people to actually offer useful advice to you..
    For example
Please help, my car is broken.
is a completely useless post!! Instead, include specifics about your cars problem and all other relevant information relating to your problem.

  • Do not post duplicate threads of your problem or issue in multiple forums... if you do then both threads will likely be deleted thus wasting your time and we will be annoyed with you for making us have to work harder!

  • Please use full sentences and punctuation. Posts or threads in text speak will be edited or may be removed.

  • If you haven't received a response to your thread after say, half a day... Firstly, check you have posted it in the correct forum, secondly, ensure you have included lots of information to help forum members HELP YOU! Do not keep 'bumping' your thread to the top of the list to try and get a response.

  • For Sale adverts - These are only allowed to be posted in the For Sale/Wanted Section.

  • Only one Username is allowed per forum member and software checks are in place to prevent multiple personalities. If you are found to be using multiple Usernames from the same IP (we have ways to tell...) then they may be all banned!

  • Please do not PM an Admin or Super Moderator or Moderator to ask them your technical or car related questions. PM's of this nature will be deleted. Instead, do what everyone else does, Make a Thread and post your question in the relevant forum! Don't be afraid, even if the question seems stupid or obvious, The stupidest questions are the ones not asked.

  • Posting blatant links to competitor sites, your own company or a company you work for is not permitted unless cleared by a Administrator or the Moderating team, this includes adding sneaky links in your profile information, posts, via PM(Private Message) or advertising in your signature. A user flouting this rule will initially be warned ONCE, then banned for life.

  • If you would like to advertise on Bimmerforums UK please have a read through the traders rules Bimmerforums UK advertising. Advertising services or products of a commercial nature is not allowed and such posts will be deleted and after a first warning, the user will be banned.

  • Bimmerforums has thrived and grown significantly due to our founding principles....
To try and offer as much good, free advice to fellow petrol heads and human beings as possible.
To keep the forum well organised and catalogued so info is easily searchable.
To not over run the forum with advertising or use any form of pop up adverts or other junk.
To hold user details very securely and do our bit in winning the war on SPAM.

Thanks

Yet again there seems to be a need to bump up this thread.....its rapidly getting to the stage where the mods patience is being pushed to the limit and incorrectly titled threads will simply be closed. Directly above the Title box (which has to be filled in) it says this...

Please post in the correct section for the topic you are posting about. Take a minute to check through the forums list and find the correct forum or subforum.
Use a descriptive title for your thread and start it with your car details [Example Thread Title] 2001 E46 330i - Intermittent cutting out and rough idle.
Remember, the more descriptive and well written your threads are, the more accurate and plentiful the help offered will be.

How much easier can it be!!!
