I had a mis fire, I had to coil packs fitted one spark plug,
The timing is jumping but to the average person you wouldn't know!

I had been told to trying to more coil packs an 3 plugs, the car had just turned 90tho miles,
Should be getting a timing chain kit fit ?

The garage doesn't seem tobe saying anything about distrabuter, valves , an two cylinders having been playing up.

Can anyone give me advice on what to get fixed?

    BMW 316ti 2003 petrol

    Thankyou

did the coil packs make any difference
there is no distributor on your car, its a crank shaft sensor that sends the signal to the ecu which controls the coil packs
the N42 engines are known for the timing chain tensioners failing causing the chain to go slack and put the timing out and at worst jump a tooth

Very poss when timing jumped hit valves, they need to carry out compression test. should have done that straight after corrected timing.
