    Hi all.

    First post.

I will soon be leaving the company i work for and am forced into buying a cheap car to tide me oer for a bit.

I have been driving a 1.¢†di Audi A2 (52 plate with 1k) on the clock. I thought it was going to be $#!+ but it has actually been surprisingly ok.

Tbh, i dont really rate BMWs that highly (sorry to say it here), but i have always liked the look of a 3 series compact (again... sorry!)

I am looking to decide on a early 318 or 320d compact and was just wondering if you guys had any thoughts on what to ook out for, or any other tips!

    Thanks!

idd never again go for a small petrol engine (had a 318is) , have a 328i and its amazing! but in your case id go for a 320d (its not that bad, and compacts tend to be quite good condition for low price)
