    Welcome to the forum!!!

IIRC - E39 5 series alloys are normally 18's and they are of a lower offset (ET) they will fit... but you would have to fit stretch tyres and roll the arches...

The best thing you can do... is go for some Style 32's they come in 16's & 17's nice and spokey just how you like... as you said...

The E36 alloys fit straight on to a E46... without any work done to the car!!!

Here is a website for ALL BMW alloys... Click Here

Thanks all for the helpfull info. Just been for a drive round to get a twin bulb and its still a nice car lol I think I need an oil level sender as the yellow oil light comes on for about 20sec at startup although the level is fine. Just found them on ebay for about 30 quid.

    Here is the new shed!

Right the sarga continues! Just checked the oil level again and its too high. I think someone may have topped it up thinking that it was low with the light coming on at startup. The dipstick isnt exaclty easy to read as it doesnt really have top and bottom notches, more like cut outs. They are close together and dont really look like the example in the manual. However the top of the plastic end of the dipstick is a star like bit and the oil level is touching it!

I guess it could do with some draining out. The manual says the difference between the upper and lower notch on the dip stick is about a litre but I dont think thats the case on mine.

    Any help?

Sounds like I'm just waiting for a mod to ok it then

Yeah the oil does look like it could do with a change. Is the sump just a case of removing the undertray and is the filter easy to get to or a total pig?

Its waaaay overfilled but it doesnt smoke and drives great so I guess no broken gaskets just yet! Better than being too low I suppose!

dont drive the car any where with that much oil in it it will damage the engine oil filter is at the top of the engine and is the canister type (undo canister take out filter put in new filter put back on) for the drain plug remove under tray first then drain out dont forget to use the new copper washer that comes with the new oil filter
