    Afternoon guys an gals!

I am on the hunt for my next car.. An e36 318is coupe.

Now I have a few questions..

After reading about, I discovered that several engines were used in the e36's m42 and m44 ?! Which one is the better on for reliability and performance. I am also looking for one with dsc what years come standard with dsc?

Is there anything I should look out for when buying one minus rust and the bottom arms?

All the ones I am finding have really high mileage does it matter as long as its not ridiculously high say... 120 thousand?

What sort of price would you pay for a nice example of an e36?

Thanks guys I look forward to hearing from you all...

    Curtis

    hello mate i myself have a 318is

the m42 is from pre 96 cars and then m44 from the facelift models
    both pretty bullet proof engines
mines on 105k now and is still running smooth
price wise as much as i hate to say it but you can pick them up for peanuts

I think the M44 engine replaced the M42 engine...so M44 would be my choice.

As for dsc, i do not think e36s came with it. Some e36s came with ASC+T which prevents the rear wheels from spinning.

Go for ambers! I like ambers!

Didn't see anyone ask for my plans untill now lol...
    So here it goes!

    Full mtec kit
Slash cut back box ( the straight one not the one that points up)
    Lower slightly
Some nice bbs wheels or borbets
    Abit of stance
Get the rear arches sprayed ( they don't need it but I don't like the scratches)
    Full detail
    May get the vador interior
I wouldn't mind some sort of install but I can't for the life of me work out how to even install a sub in a bm where do you earth it to and stuff ( any guides about?)?

I've seen a nice pioneer double din head unit I like so working out how I can fit that in there is the main thing :/

Any help and comments are welcome and much appreciated!
