    Hello all.

I thought I'd join since it's rude to stare

I'm waiting to pick up my 535d M Sport Touring after p/x'ing my trusty 9-5 Hot Aero. Just waiting for the plate transfer to come through from the dealer

This will be my first Bimmer so hoping to learn lots from this fabulous forum & meet a few friends along the way

I'll upload some piccies when I eventually take ownership.

    Anthony.

    Hi,

    It's 2005 (55) push button start.

Not 100% sure on the complete spec as yet as I wanted it regardless after the test drive. I know it's got leather heated seats (electric I think), pro widescreen sat nav, adaptive xenons, bluetooth etc. I'll ring that rip-off premium rate BMW spec line to see exactly what's it got before I pick it up so I can check everthing is in order!!

i've been doing some reading and i see from your thread you're new to BM, and so am I. But for the E61 touring what i have learnt:
    - check that the rear hose connecting to the self levelling suspension is the newer type which i assume it should be being a push button starter, as the earlier ones failed and causes failure to the compressor which is an expensive fix.
    - you'll read lots about swirl flap, only you can decide. think i read bmw get a failure once a week, so that's only 52 failures a year over x amount of cars, but piece of mind might best get it changed
    - as i don't have one, read about the hidden menu to access temperature running temp, if it's low then thermostats need changing

    - remap = apparently

Thanks for the advice much appreciated

I got to admit after reading the forums about some of the issues especially the swirl flaps & the DPF, it did cloud my judgement, but having read various reviews and other members comments it didn't put me off buying it.

I'm seriously thinking about remapping it but I'll wait and enjoy it first!!

    BTW it is grey
