hi there, i work for Caterham building the caterham r500, soon to be working on the sp300r ive had my e36 bmw 316i compact for about 5 months now and ive done the usual to it,
    stripped it out,
    lowered it,
    bucket seat,
    harness,
    steering wheel,
    respray,
    m-sport bumper for it.

plans are high lift cams, ported and polished, new conrods, pistons, bore it out, crankshaft, double valve springs, lightened flywheel, straight prop (no u-j's), exhaust . . . extreme long way around, but my mk2 golf 1.3 running just shy of 187bhp NA is different to the usual engine swap.

im doing drifting track days at the moment but running out of power. now i know everyone says do an engine swap to the 325/28, but i like to do things different, thats where im stuck. i cant find a company for love nor money who sells 316 e36 4 branch manifolds.

anyway here are a few pics ill start a build thread soon.

    and the sp300r . . . . . . .

There's an alternative. There's always a third way, and it's not a combination of the other two ways. It's a different way

I see you've made you're decision now lets see you enforce it.

I like your style. "get a bigger engine" . "No. I want the same power from mine"

My mate once had a Fiesta 1300 supersport, spent about £1700 on the engine and it made over twice the power of standard. I can see the point mate.

Don;t know where you'd get a manifold for a 316 though, I would imagine you'd have to get one made :(
