Hello, quick intro - British Expat living out in Dubai...

I've had 2 E30's (one in the UK and then one in Cyprus) so was always an E30zone(r)!

Anyway, i've been off the BMW's for a while but I think I might be back! I've been living in Dubai for 3 years and just been completely hooked on American V8's - Mustang, Camaro, Lumina, Chryslers 5.7 Hemi (2 of them)... but now i'm looking at an e34 540i.

I'll leave it there cause I wouldn't want to post in the wrong thread, looking forward to browsing the forum and i'm about to ask my first newbie question (in the E34 section )

    Cheers!

Geo, E30's are sweet. Next best things to E34's

And the V8 option, great. Had a mate out there a few years back running a V8 'Stang and mocking me about all the cheap petrol prices while we were being shafted per litre back here in ole blighty. Grrrrr. Is it still cheap out there?

    Thanks for the welcoming.

Yes, still stupidly cheap! They've raised the fuel prices 3 times in 2010 and it still costs about 20 quid to fill a 60-something litre tank.

I was back in the UK in July and nearly cried when I took my younger brothers 1.1i (never forget the "i") saxo to fill up - nearly 50quid!!!!

To be honest, that and cheap insurance is why I'm addicted to v8's.

But the e34 540i that i'm looking at buying... really is "class" compared to any Amercian V8 i've had.

Hi mate and welcome. Looking at relocating to Dubai myself next year if all goes well. What are BMW prices like out there compared to the UK? Cheers.

....Yep, petrol prices. Hence we're rolling in the 'small' 3.0!

The e34's do feel so solid though, and a nice quality ride. Had an e34 520i a few years back and that was nice to. Enjoy your 4.0 monster mate and get us some pics when you have it.
