Hello to everyone . . . . :thumbsup
I'm new to BMW's . . . :cool
I've just bought a 1996 E36 328i se saloon that has been stood since 08,
140.000 miles on her but full service history (till 136.000, BMW till 106.000),
It's nice and clean inside, pretty good on the outside . . . looks like it's been treated well, and I really like it :cool
BUT . . . . it has a tapping noise from the top end :confused, goes away soon as the revs are lifted slightly (or gets drowned out) but certainly doesn't get any louder.
Anyway going to change the oil and filter and see how goes . . .
Expect to hear more from me . . . . lol. . . :D

Cheers lads . . . I'll look into that . . . . .
Had a little listen round with a stethoscope and it was quiet round the cam chain area . . .
It's not so much a rattle as a tapping like a lifter or a maybe a little end . . .
Once I get it t&t I'll take it round a few places and get some second opinions as I like it and would really like to keep it. . . . . :thumbsup
